all of you guys have great ideal's were to go get a good deal on knives.i wish there was more shows here in kentucky were i live and the hardware store's are few and far inbetween so finding a good dealer you can count on is a good ideal...
Peggy,
Finding that perfect knife if no one in your area carries the ones you want to see and hold is a tough situation. Something that worked for me was going to a few shows, handeling the different patterns. That way I could decide what patterns fit in my hand best and then I could choose my handles based on the fit. One of the features of Case is that they will make the same pattern in MANY different handles. Wish you were closer, I'd love to have let you handle some of the knives that seem to fit better for my smaller womens hands.
I don't think anything compares to being able to pick up the knife you want & hold it in your hand ... but here in OK most dealers I've found nearby are online only ... they only set up at gun shows & adding the cost of admission drives up the cost of any knife I might buy. And the ranch stores out here definitely cater to big ol' boys with big hands who like John Deere green, yellow derlin or brown ... not my size & definitely not my colors. I wasn't thinking about getting a good deal on our road trip to Shepherd Hills, I just wanted a knife that didn't look like it was made for a man but after getting home and seeing what they were selling for on ebay ... I decided I either did real good or the price of Case knives on ebay was real inflated.
Craig, Good work on getting some of those peice you needed and for a great price
Hog, Wow... the auctions...had not thought of that
Stephen, I usually stick with dealers I have met through the internet but call and order. I like talking to my dealers
