Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I have been interested in Ram's Horn and Buffalo Horn lately. I have a Buffalo Horn ordered but I do not have a Ram's horn knife.

What do you guys think of these Handles?    Show some pictures please.

Are they really made of Ram and Buffalo horn?

Ken - I had a ram's horn Smith & Wesson Trapper, that I gave to my dad, not long ago. I would say yes, it is real rams horn. It has a rough feel to it, but kind of cool. As far as the buffalo horn goes, I believe that most, if not all of them, are water buffalo (at least the new ones being produced today). I love the buffalo horns.

I want to get a Ram's Horn soon and I can't wait til my Buffalo Horn gets here. I'll post a picture.

I like the rough rams horn, though the polished looks nice. Buffalo scales can have good looking contrasting colors.

Who makes knives with these handles? I know Case uses the Buffalo Horn, and KaBar and Kissing Cranes uses Rams Horn - but thats all I know of. Anyone know of any other Cutleries that use these handles?

S&W also has used Rams Horn-Jeremy had one.

I know Smith and Wesson and Columbia river (CRKT) both have Ram's horn scales, and Queen Cutlery and Boker both have knives with buffalo horn scales, in addition to the ones already stated.

Here are a couple Swiss Army knives with natural buffalo horn scales. Depending on the coloration they can look absolutely fantastic! Top 2 are Wenger Commanders and the last one is a Victorinox small Climber model called the Vice-President.

That Ram's horn really looks sharp on those knives. Thanks for sharing Wayne.

Just to be clear its Buffalo Horn not Rams horn.

That's more like it - I thought that was kinda dark for Rams Horn - thanks for correcting me - its beautiful.

I like both Buffalo Horn and Rams Horn. Though I've never had much/any over the years. I do have my jigged Buffalo Horn Trapper now, and I LOVE it!!!

Its a great looking knife, I can see why you like it so much. Can't wait to get my Buffalo Horn fixed blade.

Ken, I have only one Ram's horn knife. I think it really looks great. A picture of it is on the new discussion in the Outdoor Group, about knife handles, under Steve's name. The knife is 3rd from the top, on the left. I know it's not a good picture, I am having camera problems right now.
