Help dating my Kinfolks Flame Edged Super Hunter ?? (photo included)

This was a gift from a former employee of mine-( I do wish people would stop giving me knives-LOL). Anyhow, this is a Kinfolks stag handled Flame Edged Super Hunter-model 568 TC with a carbon tungsten edge on the blade. The question is, I have seen these dated from the 1920-30's all the way up past 1957 when Robeson acquired them.Since that is a span of 30-40 years I would appreciate any help in narrowing down the date  on this knife-Thanks in advance-

4th one down, does give a starting production date ('after '57) but not much else. I see what you mean by getting mixed signals off a quick search...I've seen 20's-30's, '27 and a few others, but I am inclined to believe the manufacturer's info on this one.

Hope this helps!

Manx, you are right. If I had used my head for something other than a hat rack, I wpuld have realised that in the model number 568 TC the TC stood for Tungsten Carbide -DUH !! This was confirmed in an article written by Bernard Levine. This tungsten carbide blade edge was not even patented until 1955 and this knife was still in the Robeson/Kinfolks catalogue in 1963. It's amazing that you find this knife all over the web listed as a 1920-30's vintage knife. Just shows that a little research is useful before you take a dealers word at face value.

Awesome Hunter John

Research is fun! Glad to help. Any day you can learn something is a good day!

Thanks for the input,Sue. The second link is actually the article I was referring to by Bernard Levine about the TC line of Robeson-Kinfolks knives!!  Thanks again.

great knife,if only they could talk.what a story they would have.
