Charles,
Now you have to make the leap......Use one. You will never regret it, Donnie worked with a Case every day for 40 some odd years. You couldn't pay him to take away his Northfeild 73 or the Tidioute 73 he uses. Tell Greg you need one to use, he'll find one for you. Anyone have any ideas on what the 66 is going to be?
Max,
The new one is a beauty!!! The beavertails are a passion of mine, I beleive everyone should own one, but I think everyone should own any GEC product!! Just got back from the blade show. GEC was a busy booth and a good time was had by all.
Craig, great looking knives! I use a frontier bone toothpick as an EDC and love it. As for the Beaver Tail, I love the concept and the etching. The shield on the latest model is really nice.
WAY TO GO MAX..THEM ARE SOME GOOD LOOKING KNIVES..
I use a Tidioute Smooth White Bone Toothpick for my EDC "around the farm" knife.I have a Northfield UN-X-LD single blade Beavertail in Burnt Stag for my "Dress" knife.I like them both very much. Also I have a 70's era Queen Large Jack for a serious EDC work knife, and a Case Appaloosa Bone Barlow and a Tree Brand Rosewood Barlow in the mix.I always have at least one of the GEC's on me,with any number or combination of the others. Those are my POCKETKNIVES. I also have several belt knives that I carry or wear at any given time.

Yeah, the Beaver is an inlay shield, inlaid into the wooden handle. It appears to be upside down, and I called the factory about that. It seems Bill did it that way on purpose. With a little further research I found that several knife companies do this. On knives with a Special blade etch, they orient the inlay shield so that it appears "right side up" with the blades open, showing the blade etch.

Thanks Max,I appreciate your interest. You'll see new knives on my store at AAPK before the website. It's easier to update my store at AAPK than it is my website. My webmaster is a very busy professional.[and very independent too!] But thanks for checkin it out!And Remember:Free Shipping!
Thanks Again

Bob,
Donnie uses a yellow Rose #73 and a #73 Carved pumpkin Liner Lock. Those are his current Pocketknives at work. His dress knife is a bone easy open. The other 37 just get petted, polished and enjoyed. He says he is tempted to shave with his Tidioute Razor but has not gotten around to it. Some times he carries a 1900's 6229 two blade, long pull Stag Tidioute. Been puttin up some "babies" up to 3 protos now and more expected soon. You all know the Beaver Tails are my pattern but they wont let me carry it at the Bank. OOOps bought another one I cant carry at the show last weekend, turns out it is only one of 7. Donnie says to tell you he thinks the Beaver is a Lady, one because they all belong to his wife and also because she is laying down uoside down.
WELL,WENT TO THE MAIL BOX TODAY AND THEIR WERE THREE NEW KNIVES, A 48 SECOND CUT BURNT STAG,A 73 LHL BOCOTE WOOD AND A 61 PATTERN ST PATTY'S DAY..MAN WHAT A DAY..GREAT KNIVES..UP TO FOUR AND TWO MORE ON THE WAY....
Thank you and appreciate the 'kind' comments I'm reading! Sorry it's taken me a month to say thanks, but between the knife business, keeping the blog current, working on a remodeling project and being involved in two other minor enterprises, spare time is a pretty rare commodity!! I just don't get a chance to read the boards very often.

Anytime you want to grab a photo and put it up (as long as it's not for commercial purposes), you're more then welcome to. If you want to credit me for the photo, even better!! In fact, I was doing a little research for a customer and spent some time going through the pix on my photo gallery page and was amazed looking back at all the different handle materials we've seen from GEC. Check it out when you get a chance, it's the only photo archive I'm aware of that's currently available to view.

Also, feel free to share any of the info from the blog. Jan had asked if she could copy some of the info I've posted in the blog and put it on some of the boards and I said she was more then welcome to. My big concern is that no one gets the idea I'm 'advertising'. I'm just really trying hard to keep everyone as current as possible on some of the more interesting aspects of what's happening with GEC and have a little LOT of fun doing it.

And speaking of fun, the official voting starts later today on the name the Beaver contest and will probably run up till the weekend of the 4th. I'll have more info on the blog about it later on. For now, gotta find a phone booth!! ;)
