I think this would fall under a cool thing I have seen.  One day I found this gigantic moth (I assume anyway) on my car.  It was holding on to the outside of the driver's side window.  In the middle picture, taken inside the car, you can see what almost looks like little suction cups on the end of its legs.   I have never seen anything like it before or since.  Its body was at least a half inch thick and its wing span was at least six inches.  I wish I had put something beside it to compare its size to.  Anybody else ever seen one like this?

Yea, I've seen one before but only a couple times over the years. They are rare and pretty for a moth. Thanks for sharing.
