Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Well Woody did a bit of introduction for himself when he joined us not too long ago but I wanted to take a moment to give some impression of both him and the knives he was offering at the show.

My first thoughts about this grand gentleman were , down to earth, friendly and happy to be doing what he does.  My impressions just got better.  A custom maker out of SC, Woody knows his knives.  Growing up in an era where even the youngsters were farming, hunting and fishing he knew the value of a good knife but I liked the story he told of knowing the value of a knife that stayed sharp!

When he began collecting, he realized his preference was the custom and handmades.  As he apprenticed and became a maker himself he was "inspired to produce a balanced, functional, beautiful, comfortable knife that is easy to maintain and affordable."  He said to me that a knife should last a lifetime if it is going to worth a mans hard earned days wages.

As a consumer, I appreciate how he thinks.  As a knife collector, I appreciate that he values what it takes for me to spend a days wages on a knife when so many are out there for far less.  I appreciate that he puts the value into his product to make it a knife that even with a hard work environment...it can be passed down to my grandchildren.

For those those that collect in the 100 or more range, look at his knives. See him at a show and check them out.  He uses 1095, 440C and also Damascus.  Knives are made for every use imaginable from oyster shucking to hunting

Yes, we bought one!

Just checked out Woody's website ,really good looking knives .

So nice to meet Woody. He sure sounds like one of knifemakers who started as a collector and quickly realized why we buy a knife. I use a knife everyday in my work and I use most of the knives I have. For sure am over the 100 amaount, honestly don't know how much over!

I will take a pic of ours today and post it here

His knives are very cool and affordable.
