Here is a picture of my Pietta 1858 Army model .44 cal. Very accurate and smooth shooting. I can't remember exactly when I purchased this one but I think around the mid to late eighties. Love to shoot this one.

The tiny little NAA .22 caliber BP is a real hoot. I think it is much louder than the .44 but is really fun. It don't have much punch but loaded with 777 it gets pretty fancy. Even with the extremely short barrel it will pattern pretty well at close range.

I did take these pictures in B&W because I felt it sort of fit with the times.

Bob,

Donnie shot black powder for years and loved it.  I think if he were to take up shooting again it would be his choice.  His favorite was his Thompson Center

Good choice Jan. I have a TC Renegade .54 cal. that I have taken deer and turkeys with, I got it back in 1976. I also have 2 other .50 Cals that I have used, not TC's though. I still have one pistol I would love to have, a .36 cal Navy colt, but it will be awhile before I have the funds. Same story for the last 30 years. : )

LOL, he just said he would like a navy colt

Great post Bob!  Thanks for making it.  Many years ago I had a replica Navy  Colt.  Don't remember who made it.  Was fun to shoot.

The only muzzleloader I have now is a New England Firearms .50 cal. inline.  I shoot a 250 grain Shock Wave saboted bullet over two 50 grain 777 pellets.  The only deer I have killed so far this season was a nine point buck back in Nov.  It was a 150 yard shot.  The deer only went about 25 yards and went down.  All told I have killed three deer with it.

Thanks Charles, Glad to see you still enjoy the challenge of black powder. Nice trophy. I Have an inline that I use also, I use Power belt bullets and load 100 grains of Pyrodex loose powder. Still use my TC .54 Renegade also, use A .530 round ball and 100 grains of pyrodex in that also. Have used the .530 TC maxiball with 120 grains powder but now too much for the old shoulder. : (
