The Case SodBuster. A true classic! Is there ANYONE that doesn't have one? LOL!

A SodBuster Jr. was my very first Case knife, and I LOVED it. So of course I have a VERY special place in my heart for the Case SodBuster.

I recently bought a SodBuster Jr. with the intention of carrying it. And I did for about one week. Then I decided to put it on a shrine and not carry it in remembrance to my first Case.  I sit and meditate and have special quality time with it everyday.

THIS is the Official International Case SodBuster Discussion. Post your pictures here of Case SodBusters, and don't be afraid to show your emotions and love for the Case SodBusters.

Here's my NEW beloved Case SodBuster Jr.

That sure is a beauty Alan! What a great win!

Thanks gents.

I think I have to get one of the new Jigged Rosewood Soddies!

Craig...it does.

I like the bird's eye rivet on the stag proto!  What I don't like about the amber bone is the lack of the Bird's Eye rivet.

Does anyone know if Case is going to release a bone 092 Sodbuster (the big one) in bone or stag?

Also does anyone have a good generic name for non-Case Sodbusters?  The best I've come up with is Farmer's Work Knife.

These are what I've seen other companies call their Sodbuster style knives:

Rough Rider:  Work Knife (the large one is a copy of the old Case Liner Lock Sodbuster)

Remington:  Shotbuster (another copy of the Case Liner Lock Sodbuster)

Frost:  Dirt Buster   and also Mule Skinner

Kissing Crane:  Brown Mule

Robert Klaas: Work Knife (or by its blade stamp - Black Angus, Coal Miner, etc) - They also have lockbacks

Schrade:  Imperial Large Single Blade knife or Imp 22L

Queen:  Country Cousin

Boker:  Rangebuster (and Rangebuster lockback)

Also, I've seen some Italian companies use the word "Maniaghese" to describe Sodbusters.  Apparently it referes to knives from the area around Maniago, Italy.

A Tortoise Shell Rough Rider Work knife was the first Sodbuster Style knife I bought. I've loved the pattern ever since but I've been slow to pick up one by Case. I still really dig that Rough Rider, especially because of the liner lock. (Not only does it lock the blade it helps prevent the closed blade from snagging the pocket when you pull it out tip down!)

If only Case would change its mind and start making a locking Sodbuster of some kind!

Moore Maker Knives in Texas calls their Sod Buster....Sod Buster.  http://catalog.mooremaker.com/viewProduct.cfm?item_id=708141

Thanks Jan! I just knew this was a Case discussion! LOL!

Just in! I love the Jigged Rosewood!

New Soddie!

Hunter Green Barnboard

Craig,

OMG I have to go look at one of those in person

It almost looks like black-green even in person. Some of the patterns in the series ARE lighter than this, but the Sod Buster Jr.'s I've seen so far have been like mine.
