The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Just throwing out an idea and figured this is one of the best place to start. I'm thinking of forming a group to discuss fishing. I'm think everything from sharing fishing stories, advice on gear, etc. Of course a good chunk would also focus on collecting vintage tackle and knives as well as what you use when you go fishing today. Would people be interested in such a group?

yes, this is when my dad first started trusting me with my first knife and using it to filet a fish. rapala 6in filet knife and 5 blue-gill and 1 bass. my dad was a butcher and knives were a part of his everyday life.
SOUNDS GOOD . JUST GOT A NEW ROD . RHINO " SUPPOSEDLY " INDESTRUCTIBLE TIP . I BOUGHT A NEW ONE LAST YEAR , THE WIFE CLOSED THE CAR DOOR ON IT 20 MINUTES LATER . WHAT I GET FOR NOT BREAKING IT DOWN !!!
I'm inspired by all the positive responses but I can tell you that it is not easy to keep a group thriving. Even groups with 100+ members can stagnate and grow stale. This is why I want to make the category anything related to fishing, Collecting, going, reviewing products, etc. But even that isn't enough. The key is participation and recruitment. Is everyone who replied so far willing to invite a friend or two also join the group if it gets formed?
this idea apeals to me, As I have kind of lost interest in anything lately, except fishing and staying alive. Hopefully I have had my last procedure and am cured. Think fishing won't interfear with all these electonic devices in me now. Fishing has been a way of life for our past family, I have the recepie for a powerfull medication that goes into stink bate. This stink bait was made in the depression and put into old surp buckets, with a splash of the medication, was guaenteeded to catch catfish.

on a side note:
There’s lots of fun to be had this weekend in Michigan as no fishing licenses are needed for residents and non-residents! This Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14 make up the 2015 Summer Free Fishing Weekend, an annual effort to promote Michigan’s numerous fishing opportunities.

Sounds good . I enjoy fishing quite a bit , both fresh water and I enjoy surfcast fishing in salt water . I fish mainly in the New England area. Most of my fresh water fishing is from my canoe in Vermont......TAKE CARE ROGER
