Not sure what you mean by the Custom Collaborations Series in 2003? These that I have posted are all USA Collaborations.

I have a question

I think the  Custom Collaboration series was done in 2003 but are they USA made or China?  Isnt that right on the line of the change to China?

I must have messed up on my attempt to reply to the 2003 collaboration discussion, so I'll try again. Schrade and D'holder got together for a millennium collaboration in 2000. The 2000 milleniem Schrade D'holder knives have a distinctive tapered tang. The first production run of 500 have a serial # on the spine and are etched First Production Run   over   1 of 500   on the pile side, and   Schrade   over   D'holder  on the obverse side. In 2003 D'holder started another series for Schrade. There were to be 5 knives in the series but only 4 were made due to the bankruptcy. Research on anything Schrade can be confusing as they kept very few records. When you speak of Schrade's made in China, that would be knives produced by Taylor LLC. that bought the rights to the Schrade name after the bankruptcy in 2004.

Schrade D'holder 2000 millennium series in Green Burl Maple

8" overall with a 3-3/4" drop point blade of  BG-42 steel @ 60-62 Rc.

Great looking knife...sure would love to see all that were produced, even better, I wish I had one of each of them...lol

Doug!  Thanks for getting that put up for me and yes that is exactly what I was referring to, I just somehow missed Tom's question

3 knives were made for the Millennium Series started in 2000    with BG-42 steel

SDH1- stag handles 1000 made

SDH2- burl maple handles 1000 made

SDH3- green burl maple handles 1000 made

The Centennial Series started in 2001 with 440C steel

SDH01  bronze Grizzly on guard...Desert Ironwood handles... 500 made

SDH02 bronze Ram Head on guard...Ram's Horn handles ...500 made

SDH03 bronze Elk on guard...Stag handles...500 made

SDH04 bronze White Tail Deer on guard...Red English Walnut handles...only 52 made due to                        bankruptcy

SDH05 bronze Flying Eagle on guard...Gemstock Horn handles....none made

All but the SDH05  can be seen by Googling SCHRADE D'HOLDER KNIVES and clicking on IMAGES...the SDH05 can be seen at this link  http://www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us/FLYERS/2000s/pages/SC04-CP24...
