Opened my mailbox to find an unsolicited package from my oldest brother who lives just outside of Little Rock. I haven't been able to contact him yet to ask why, and there was no note enclosed ???? Anyhow, he sent me this sweet little Rough Rider model 481 Barlow--Sawcut brown bone with fluted bolsters-440 steel- 3 1/4 inch closed with a 2 1/2 inch master blade. Not a expensive knife to be sure, but very well made for the price. All fittings are flush and smooth, great walk and talk, and razor sharp out of the box. The only knock is the master blade is  about a frog's hair off dead center when closed. I have paid far more for less quality with other knives. Anyhoo- It certainly made my day !!!!

Very nice gift John!

A Nice surprise and what a wonderful gift, Congrats!

Hey .. any day you get a surprise knife in the mail is a good day in my book.

It'll be interesting to discover what got into your brother.

As long as the blades aren't rubbing against anything .. I wouldn't be concerned about the ever so slightly out of center thing.

!!! .. What a nice thing for your brother to have done .. !!!

Nice gift, John. I think that the Barlow is the best in the sawcut series.

That is a nice knife John.    I collect Rough Riders.  They make some very nice knives and are high quality for the money.  I have found they are typically hair shaving sharp out of the box.

It is always nice to get a surprise knife!
