Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I love this time of year and getting the family involved or heck!  Just carve something yourself!  How about a turnip?

What ever you choose, post it here.  Every posted carving, showing the knife you used, gets an entry!  There is a knife prize and I will post it tomorrow right here

When I was a young lad many years ago we didn't have pumpkins in the UK and used to carve swede's , or turnips as the Scots and probably Irish say . These aren't the blonde haired Scandinavian types but very hard vegetables that my wife has a peculiar fondness for . I can only presume that you don't have them in the States or you have more sense than to try carving them and use pumpkins instead . I can still smell the hot pumpkin with the candle inside , but used to prefer the toffee that my Auntie Susie used to make  to tell the truth .

Over the years we have seen iKC cutting boards carved , a coconut and some marvelous pumpkins.  I cannot wait to see what this year brings.  Oh and by the way here is the prize

AND the contest ends Oct 31rst (all hallows eve) at Midnight eastern!

The boys have a couple of pumpkins they brought home from field trips. They are already wanting to carve them. I told them we wait till closer to Halloween

Excellent Billy, can't wait to see them!

Here is our version for the year
