Just a few of my trappers, Case of course...

I sure like that Case in Med blue. Schrade only made 2 sets in blue bone, not nearly enough for my tastes. I posted this one before, but it's worth a second look. The first one is an "unfinished " Schrade. It was meant to be part of their 100 year anniversary sets with a shield and blade etch, but with bankruptcy approaching, the factory put together what they had in stock. If anyone has a knife with this style of "rope jigging", I'd sure like to see it. The other Trapper is part of a Special Edition set.

Both of them are nice knives Doug!

Here is my most recent Trapper find, a 1994 Buck #314 full size Trapper, made at the Buck factory. I'm also including a comparison photo with my other Buck Trapper, a #311 Slimline Trapper made by Camillus, (pre 1986). Though similar in appearance, they differ in steel, (the #314 has Buck heat treated steel, the #311 has Camillus steel whatever that was at the time; not heat treated by Buck), but they both sport black sawcut Delrin "stock" handles. The #314 has beautiful hollow ground blades, and the fit & finish are superb. Don't get me wrong, I love my old #311 with it's flat ground blades, but those hollow ground beauties on the #314 just smack of top notch US industrial quality IMHO.

I carry both knives in belt sheaths regularly, but I must admit to carrying the beefier #314 as an EDC more often than the slimmer #311. The #314 is a fine example of a high quality US-made knife.

Nuthin' especially fancy, but a lot of these #314's were modified with exotic handle materials. This was the first "stock" version I ever saw for sale, so I grabbed it; glad I did.

I got a couple of new Case Trappers today. These came from a good friend, Ronnie Newsom.

Jeremy those are very nice.  I really like the Forgiven

Nice pair, Jeremy.

I have a few Trappers but I think my favorite is still the one with buffalo horn scales. Just something about it makes me smile.

That's a beauty Jeremy,  I see why you like it so much, makes me want to smile too!

To add to the Buck trappers I posted above, i can now add another Buck Trapper to the herd, a #329 Freedom Trapper, (a 1988 SFO for SMKW by Camillus). This one is unused, but wasn't able to get the fancy tin it originally came in; no matter, the knife is pristine. The only Buck SFO Trapper I still need for my collection is a #334 Millenium Trapper, (and of course the uber rare jigged bone versions they produced in those models; still looking for those). Now that I think about it, the only Trappers I have currently are Bucks, but judging from what I see above I think I might NEED a Case like Jeremy's too.

Here is a family photo of all but one of the Buck Trappers, (#334 Millenium Trapper is the one model missing in this photo). All Buck trappers were made by Camillus. The #329 in Smooth Yellow Delrin is my latest acquisition. I hope to add a #334 to this family soon. Top L-R: #311 Slimline Trapper, #314 Trapper, bottom L-R: #312 Mini Trapper, #329 Trapper.

Excellent family portrait!

This is my favorite regular sized trapper from my collection.  This is a 50 year anniversary D-Day Commemorative stag handled Case Trapper, it has a matching Zippo with it (not pictured).  I acquired this from a pawn shop for an amazing price!
