very nice collection of Pocket jewelry
Just like bone, the dye can vary depending on how dense or porous the wood is. I've seen ones that are bright red, subdued red, and a deep wine red almost purplish. I have a 75 Stockman in it and it is like a wine red, whereas my Seahorse is kind of a subdued neutral red. I like all the different shades and grains.......character!

Thanks Craig. I was surprised on how red this one was. The dye REALLY took!
Thanks Sue!
Yup .... which is why I am STILL waiting and looking ... and looking .... and looking to find just the right giraffe bone pony!

Wow, of all the horses you have posted this has got to be my favorite. Not only do I love the color, 2014 is one of the years I collect, (my grandson was born that year), and curly maple is my all time favorite tone wood, (meaning it is often used on musical instruments). Thanks for posting it.

Couple more added to the stable .... but only had time to take pics of one of them. 2014 blue-dyed curly maple. (Funny thing is ... I really had no plans to add one of these, but really liked the grain/color on this one).
Thanks Syd. Glad I took a chance on this one. Not to mention ... I picked it up for a fantastic price!!!
I just checked ebay, out of 77 listings only five were used, the rest were new BIN listings, seems like folks are squirreling these Seahorses away, even the used ones looked pristine.

OH, wow, that curly maple is beautiful.
Nice Dennis! I love mine!
Thanks Billy and Craig. I really wasn't going to add one (despite my love of wood!). But, when I saw this particular pony, couldn't resist. Here is another that recently arrived. It's the 2018 synthetic terra cotta. Again, wasn't going to add this one either ... but when I saw a terra cotta with customized bolsters, I caved. To me, the difference is night and day. Adds a lot to the plain nature of the terra cotta.
Nice Dennis!
I like the plain one myself.......but I'm a plain guy. LOL!
