Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Can't believe we are entering a another decade. I hope everyone has a great new year.  As I open up a new iKC calendar, thought it would be a great idea to choose a knife a month to showcase.  Here's my knife of the month for January (I wonder what yours might be?!).  This is the last knife I purchased in 2019.  It's a utility / hunter by TK Steingass - spalted hackberry handle with a 4.5" 1095 blade with hamon.

Awesome addition for March , Dennis.

I've always been awed with nice coin knives.

Oh that's just crazy...I love it!

Thanks J.J. and Lars.  Been busy here.  Had a leaking dishwasher here .... few things are more worrisome!   Fortunately, keep a leak detector under the dishwasher (and other potential leak locations in the house).  Damage was minimal ... but the next headache began.  Searching for a replacement that was not junk made with more plastic than cars are nowadays!!

Anyway, JD makes super knives, including his coin knives.  He primarily uses old Spanish/Mexican silver coins.  Have had this one since 2018.  The new knife I bought from him arrived this week.  It will probably make next month's calendar!

April is upon us already.  I know, because I am spending entirely too much time outside doing spring clean-up!

Here's another knife I got from J.D. Ware last month.  A slim slip joint with W2 blade, bull horn covers and an escutcheon made from an old Mexican silver coin.

Happy April Dennis!  Another beauty you've shared with us.  1/4 of 2025 is in the books....Grandpa said it I don't know how many times, but boy...the older ya get the quicker time slips by you.  Don't forget to stop and appreciate life y'all ! ! !

I don't know what I like best about that one, Dennis.

The simple damasscus pattern,

The horn scales,

Or the Mexican silver.

It's May, and may I share a knife that a friend gifted me back almost a decade ago.  Here is a William Henry 2003 collector series T09 Kestrel with granulated silver scales.  What makes it special, aside from the fact that it was a wonderful and thoughtful gift, is that it has a very unique serial number .....  020304!

Oh that's fabulous Dennis! Thank you for sharing it. I love too that it doesn't have to be a "New" knife that is cellebrated.

Happy May Day my friend -

Starting the half-way point of 2025 already.  You might not know it, as the temp this morning was only 40°!   Here's a Schrade Walden MC-1 parachutist’s knife from the 1950s that was gifted to me by the brother of a good friend 9 years ago.  Was pretty rough when I got it, but it cleaned up very well.

Oh that's fantastic Dennis! Standing here in TX where's it's 71 degrees, this look terriffic. Thanks for sharing it.

Good morning by the way - (you and your 40 degrees :-D)

Did a real nice job. The knife looks new. Thank you for sharing.

July .... but this heat wave has it feeling like the dog days of August!  Here are two birthday surprises given to me by my daughter and her partner.  Right is a 2007 Schrade/Taylor Brand Cigar Box Classic sowbelly.  Left is a 2023 Case medium stockman.
