Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I know it is very hard to narrow it down to just one or two of your favorite knife manufactures but try! If necessary give a top 3. It can be a custom knife maker or a factory maker, any and all are welcome!

Honestly I have no clue why they want you to stay away from magnetic, I have put every diamond apparatus on this thing I possibly can and I came to the conclusion that it just isn't designed for razor sharpness, but instead pure strength and durability. Even thought in pictures it would seem to be a hidden tang, It is not and with the handle being a carbon kevlar composite mix, It is downright indestructable. Not much of a hacker, it is way too light but it is a tank and I am very impressed overall. As far as doing performance tests with it myself will have to wait till i get moved this week or next.
Emerson but it really depends on the knife model not the company but it has to be Made in the good ol USA or forget it, well Japan is cool i guess. lol

Hi, I am new here, first post. :)

At the moment I am really liking the following:

Emerson Commander.

Strider SA

Spyderco Resilience.

Great Eastern......Treeman.......ML

Pocket knives- 1. Great Eastern,2. Case 3. Boker Tree Brand

Tacticals- 1. Benchmade 2. Spyderco 3. SOG

I started with Spydercos and really like them. I have several different types. I am a fan of Zero Tolerance and CRKT. Those are the ones I would say I carry and use the most.

You are right there are so many . I love collecting some of the more unique tactical and designer knives as well. They are just fun. I have knives from Darrel Ralph, Brian Tighe, Wilson Tactical, Spartan knives, and Miltner Adams to name a few. If only I could afford more. That darn money thing....

spyderco and benchmade share the number one spot and then kershaw as number 3. although i just read in this thread that mr onion wont be doing more knives for kershaw so i am a bit bummed about that though.

Had not read that about Mr. Onion.  Will have to take a look there.  Thanks for the heads up

Great Eastern Cutlery, even those made for other companies

James Ivy Customs

Ken Erickson Customs

sorry, I couldn't do the just choose 1.  Thanks for saying we could expand

I collect the antique knives and right now tend to like the older makers best.  And since I focus mostly on switchblades my top makers are:

  • Press-Button
  • Latama

As far as pocket knives

  • original Russell's especially Barlows

Fixed blades, I still love the old Bowie style especially if it comes in an antique, hand-made Native American beaded sheath!  Otherwise, I love

  • Henckels Bowies, the late 1800s knives

I need to buy some of the knives you guys recommend and come into the 21st century.  Maybe Spyderco or Benchmade or something modern (???)

Benchmade, Kershaw, Case and Boker.
You and i aare moving iin opposite directions pertaining to choice of collectables. It is great to see tastes change.
