I am looking for information and history of the "Colonial Brand Knife Company". I have heard of the brand and I have seen them on the Net. but that's about all I have on them. I would appreciate any info you knife buffs might have on the brand. Thanks.

Wow, thanks Steve and for sure Miss Sue. I am looking to buy an old fish cleaning knife, for real use, and this is a brand I'm considering. Sounds like Colonial, tried hard to make a good knife, for people to use. If anyone, has an idea of the type steel they used to make their knives, that would be great. I might be, asking for too much. Thanks again.

The old knife that I was looking at on Ebay, had an opening bid of $14.99. So after reading the info Miss Sue had posted, I figured the knife/sheath were worth the price. I met the low opening bid and forgot about it. Well this mourning, I was looking at things on Ebay and noticed the old Colonial knife was missing. I checked my personal account and yep, I won the bidding with that opening bid. It will make a great knife for fish cleaning. I'll post a picture, when I get it. I just thought, Ya'll might want to hear this little knife story.

I have 2 colonial navy knives posted on my page  if you care to look.  I, too, was interested to know about them.  Rugged knives, really rugged!

Hey Robert thats wonderful!  Cant wait to hear how it performs

Thanks, Ya'll, I love your work Gary. It's great to have another great knife maker with us. Well, Miss Jan, I hope to catch enough fish to have to test it alot.LOL

And, if it doesn't work well for you, filet knives is one of my specialties for Alaskan Salmon or any sized fish.  Where are you going fishing?  I go to Alaska a couple of times every summer for the "Coho" & then the "Silvers" in late Aug.
