Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I received this as a present last night from my brother in law. I can't seem to find much information about as my work terminal has "Weapons" sites blocked by our content filter. I figured some of our mature/retired members may have the time to hunt down some info on this bayonet.

The pictures provided are of my usual quality. The dimensions of the Bayonet are:14-3/4" OAL, 9-7/8" blade. The scabbard has no dents or deep scratches and the paint is about 90%. The frog(leather belt hanger) is in excellent used condition as is the leather washer on the hilt of the blade.

Ignore the birthday confetti, some employees decorated my office yesterday while I was in meeting.

Here are some links to check out, Brad.

DRP 25 - German Post Office.  The initials 'DRP" stand for Duetsches Reichs Post. The number is
believed to be an accountability number. (http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?p=317935)

I'll keep digging...

That is a truly beautiful piece in great condition! The blade looks as if it was just made! Great gift.

Here is a pic I found of one of his pieces from 1940: Some similarities in the sheath but not the piece:

You know there is not much info on that second link JJ but it is significant info

That was where I found the DRP info...
The tangstamp is different from any I've seen on the net.

No info here but I do know that your bother-in-law must really like you.

Nice bayonet!

Did Brad just say us oldies don't have a life?

LOL

If it's from WWII era, the blade is in great shape, and notice the leather washer, next to the hilt. Congrats Brad, now you get to do detective work. What fun. JJ. I was busy, I was watching my tomatoe plants grow.lol

Made between mid 1930's-WWII. According to "Not 2 Sharp" on Blade forums.
