I'd like to see more videos.

I've stayed away from that site thinking it was just for the ladies! Now how do I say I'm going to have to check out Bladesmith Babes without it sounding sexist?  LOL Honest honey, I look at that site for purely educational reasons, it's only research!! ROFL  I don't think I'd buy that one.

It kind of exists but maybe we need a better tag for it?  It is under the bladesmith babes.  Sue has a disussion in there with some amazing info

What I would like to see is a listing of all professional knife makers. They could add a picture and info about their knives. We could copy the phone book "Yellow Pages", type set up. IKC, could even charge a fee for each makers add.

The way things are right now, I have to look through the members one at a time to find out who makes knives. The new title "Knife Maker" on their badges helps but unless they are active in a discussion or something, they stay hidden from sight.

This way, you could go to the knife makers, yellow pages and look up different knife makers from all over the world. You would not have to make it mandatory but if a maker doesn't want to expand his listing, then it would only have his name and his IKC page listing. Something of that nature.

I would really like to see this happen and I'll bet every knife maker does to, not counting regular members, like me. Did I say I was regular....uh...lol      Thanks Miss Jan and Paw paw Steve.

I would like for more to be added but in all honesty a bit of a slowdown in videos for knives even on YouTube. I am trying to find out if Josh Hill can post videos he is doing on the knives they sell. that would give us a look at a  lot of products and maybe help us. For sure we need to support the people who do post. Liking their contributions and leaving good comments. The more of that we get the more likely we are to get contributions!

Well if you remember we did have two members JJ and dale who tried assembling something but it was off site. I don't think too many folks used it.

I know it is not used much but using Advanced member Search you can search on Knifemaker and any other criteria you want like the state for example. I think that capability has always been there but we had no way to select knifemaker, now we do. sadly the knifemakers who have not visited have not updated their profiles so they will not be found but many others will going forward.

I think I understand what you're saying but these off site stuff and some kind of searches, is something a lot won't under stand or won't take the trouble to do. If there was a Yellow page of knife makers, I promise you, members would frequent it. The reason knife makers don't frequent IKC is, they don't have time or they may be too tired to make friends and be active. If no one talks to them, they may feel isolated and as a result, not spend time here. Figuring no one is interested in their knives and there is no prospects of selling their knives. I think it's a good idea, I might not understand complication of adding it to the club but it certainly would be a big plus. Thanks for listening.
