You mentioned that it's a company "that made great knives!" They don't make "good knives" anymore? I heard the company's changed. A lot of stuff comes from Asia. Is that true? Do you know what's going on with the company lately - within the last year or so? I always remember them as well made German knives. They were the first German brand I obtained when I started collecting years ago. I haven't seen too many lately.

As a guy I used to know MANY moons ago used to call them.......I always liked Kissing Chickens knives! I used to have quite a few Robert, but haven't had any for years. I'll enjoy seeing them here!

Michael, to answer your question, in my limited ability. Kissing Cranes were all made in Germany, from their start and until a few years ago. I guess under pressure from Asian Imports and before the age old company got into financial trouble, they moved their operations to two places. Their folders went to China and their fixed blades went to Italy. While not the same quality of the German knives, they are still a good deal for the much less money that's asked for them.

You also hear them called "smoochin' goose" by Tony on Knives Live.

I have a KC that's a Buffalo Skinner pattern fixed blade, I really like. It's a vintage knife that's still in great shape. I'd love to take it camping but I have decided it's to stay in the collection. I'll post a picture. Latter.

Thanks Robert for the explanation of what happened to Kissing Crane. I knew something changed, now I know. Are any pieces still made in Germany or has all that been shut down?
