I just had a very interesting conversation with a gentleman named Ted Merchant.

Ted owns a site that he started a while back but is now ready to accept members. At this time there is no cost to join. His site http://knifeshows.com gives you the ability to have your own page and SELL knives. Now of course you can go there and buy knives also!

You all know I am a true collector and selling a knife would be like giving up one of my kids, LOL. So, no I have not tried the site for that, I just joined his site today

I do get asked a good many times though, can we sell here? The ability is here but remember it is a limited ability in our community. Kniveshows.com has the ability for you to market your knives.

I think so too Chuck. Bit it's worth having a look at it. I should have a bunch of knives ready soon anyway. So I think I'll give making a storefront and trying to sell some stuff a try.

went aherad and signed up. i also had to write them about something and in doing so mentioned to them that i found thir site VIA IKC... cant hurt...{enter smiley here}

few things i wanna point out to make it easier on the next guy/gal

1st-your USER NAME is the name you provide to sign in with NOT your store name.

2nd-your DISPLAY NAME is what will come up as your store name.

3rd.{IMPORTANT TO ME..and especially those who want to keep the same store name,everywhere,online. you cant use anything but numbers and letters not even -_* or the spacebar when signing up.... BUT-dont fret- GOOD NEWS..once you do sign up you have the ability to add what you want once you get to your stores page and click edit. also the word STORE was auto added to my stores name... which can be removed when you are doing your editing. for being in BETA mode its not bad at all but could use a little more direction with the sign up process.

4th - if you already have a store somewhere.i wouldnt waste time waiting.. .i would sign up NOW {IMO}. as for now i could just change my stores name to whatever i want...my guess in the future if it becomes more populated...store names will start to be on a first come first GET basis.{im guessing}.

anyway besides a little HELP page on the front with a few things i listed above its in a great little beta stage site and will be a great site for those who want soemwhere to sell a few knives here and their. ...if they keep the 13 slots free..SEE SITE. i like that they have tht you can buy more slts if needed...hopefully they can continue this. i havent looked into enough to see if their are fees related to selling anything or if they use PP or anything like that.ill look at it later.
