Just a little question about a Russell knife.

Has anyone ever seen a Russell brand knife, with no tang stamp?

Someone has a Grand Daddy Barlow for sale and the blade has no tang stamp. The boltsters have the big "R" with the arrow through it but like I say, the tang is blank.

It seems suspect, to me. Along with the price, that's over a third lower than it should be. Is it a great deal or a suckers deal?

I have decided to stay away from it. I just wanted to know what, Ya'll think about it. Thanks.

I think I would do just what you did - stay away from it. I have never seen one with no tang stamp either.

I don't remember of ever seeing one without a tang stamp.

The seller may not even know of his short comings. A problem can be passed along, for quite a while.

I'd love to see a picture of it! Many old knives have had blades replaced, but you can usually tell if you can examine it close enough. But replaced or not, no stamp means not collectible to most people.

And the value of an old unmarked user is not very high.

Wise choice to stay away from it Robert

The Ebay #271262473136  Check it out. No bidders. Knife is at $160.....some just like it are going for $295.
