Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Our Friends at Knives Live need our help

For a while now we have enjoyed spending time together and watching Knives Live as a group. We have been able to have some fun, offer prizes and talk knives. Our hosts have recognized iKnifeCollector and a few of you have even found us because of them. Myself, I will be forever grateful for all the enjoyment and members they have brought to us.
Jay and Tony told us last night that as of October 11, 2013, Knives Live may cease to exist. The cost of Television coverage is just too high. As a collector, it breaks my heart. Each show is a like a mini trip to Smokey Mountain Knives Works and the wonderful world of new and old releases.
We talked about it in last night’s Chat and decided that we should let SMKW know that while we certainly understand that the show cannot continue to struggle financially, a less expensive means may well be at their fingertips. I assume, the webstream is a less costly venue and many of us enjoy the show on it weekly because we don’t get the show on TV anyway.
So let’s support Knives Live! If you looking for a knife in the next few weeks, order during the show. Send an email to SMKW, let them know we would be happy to only have the webstream option.
Know that Buck Knives has stepped up to help try to find a less costly option for the good folks at Knives Live. iKnifeCollector.com supports SMKW and will support Knives Live in whatever their future endeavor is. There is still hope!! Send those emails, buy during the show if you can.

Thank you
Jan Carter

Jan, I will send an email - I love the show.

Are the sales down, for the show? I support them, and don't want to loose them. I may order in the day time because my Meds make me sleepy at night. But the reason I buy, in day time is the show at night. I am sure a lot of others buy from the catalog but have become friends with the TV show. It is helping their sales, in ways they can't emagine.

I agree with you Robert, lots of people enjoy the show and may buy knives, from the catalog, the show or direct from the store.

I do hope the show continues in some form, web stream is fine with me as that's how I watch it now!  Not sure what the costs are to operate that way.

Bottom line for us, we just enjoy seeing and talking about knives. That's our hobby and for the true collector, user, maker or designer....what could be more fun?

I was thinking {sometimes it's dangerous}, maybe they could take on companies for advertising, other than just for knives. The Super Bowl, advertises all sorts of stuff, that has nothing to do with a football. There's bound to be some fine company, looking for exposer to a great bunch of people {buyers}, every week.

Where do we need to send the email?

Vance
