Information

Daniels Family Knife Brands

The Daniels family have been involved in knives for five generations, from trading, selling, manufacturing, and now distribution.

This new chapter has begun for Ryan and Courtney Daniels.  "Daniels Family Knife Brands" is offering the exiting new Excelsior Knife Company line of knives directly crafted by the knife makers that also design them. They also are continuing the very popular Tuna Valley Cutlery Co. knife brand, marketed towards the contemporary collector.

Thanks to everyone for all their support over the years, and we hope to talk with you in person at one of the many knife shows we attend throughout the year! We have many projects on the horizon, and hope you check here often to see what is coming next.

The newest Tuna Valley knife, the Phoenix Jack in Burnt Stag with a 154CM steel blade is available at dealers now. I'll post photos of mine once I have a chance to take some pics. Here is a group photo of them.

Thanks guys! It is one of my favorites in the Tuna Valley collection!

That's a very good looking knife, Carl! There's certainly no mistaking that it's lightning wood.

Comment by Tim on May 29, 2020 at 10:30

That is a very special & unique knife.

Comment by Carl Bradshaw on May 28, 2020 at 20:39

It is one of the most interesting handle materials to come out in the last 30 years I think.

Comment by Jan Carter on May 28, 2020 at 20:03

I have a couple in the lightning wood and it is just a stunning reminder that even when she is heavy handed Mother Nature can create beauty

Comment by Dan Lago on May 28, 2020 at 18:41

Looks like a very special knife.. The lightning wood is scary when you think about the voltage right beside your hands in making it - I have abandoned plans to use this process. I like the boys knife especially with a bail and chain - I lost too many of this boy's knives...

Comment by Carl Bradshaw on May 28, 2020 at 18:18

Here is a neat one to show off.  A handle material that was never used on Tuna knives, on a pattern that was never made for Tuna knives.  2017 1 of 1 special, Boy's Jack Knife in Lightning Wood. Pretty unique!
