Yes it is a cast unit. The image may be cast also check the edges of the scribed lines if they are a little rounded on the edge it amy be cast. The perimeter art without much interior shading also may indicate a cast image. If you want to scrim your own cast tooth check out Boone Tradeing Post. They have anything you need for scrimshaw. They carry cast and real items as well as findings, belt buckles , pendant and raw mammoth ivory and materials.Keep scratching... HutcH

I suspect it is a resin cast but here's a picture of the bottom for your opinion Hutch. Thanks.

Chuck is your tooth real or a resin cast tooth? The flat bottom has me suspect. Do you have an open area at the bottom or is it solid flat accross?

Jan, Yes it is. He shipped it with a letter of apology. He said he didn't really understand eBay "stuff". I think maybe it's because I filed a complaint with eBay? Anyway, I like it. It will be a nice attention getter for my Scrimshaw knives whenever I set up a display.

Charles, is that it?  He decided to ship it?  That is fantastic

Recently purchased. It'll make a great piece for display whenever I get a chance to set up a table somewhere.

My first purchase. It's a small piece but it's a start.
