To the delight of Spyderco fans, 2015 has been a record setting year for Spyderco model releases. The company is on pace to ship more than 2 new models a month.  Spyderco fans are brimming with anticipation to get their hands on one or more of the 11 new models (see below) still on tap for 2015.

None of the new knives will be made in Spyderco’s brand new Golden, Colorado factory.  The Taichung, Taiwan operation faces most of the pressure – 9 of the 11 remaining models still due this year will be made there, with the balance coming out of Seki City, Japan.

STILL TO COME: SPYDERCO 2015 MID-YEAR SUPPLEMENT:

Positron: A new flipper designed by Brad Southard. It’s a smaller, more ‘gentlemanly’ folder from the designer of Spyderco’s first flipper.

Gayle Bradley 2: A streamlined version of Gayle Bradley’s popular folder, still sporting his favored CPM-M4 blade steel. It’s not clear whether this folder will be sold alongside the original Gayle Bradley or replace it.

Vrango: Designer Michael Henningsson conceived of the Vrango’s dramatic recurve tanto blade for pure utility, but the anodized titanium handles with inlaid carbon fiber give the knife a dressy look.

Mamba: This big, bold flipper comes from designers Walter Brend and Joel Pirela.

Myrtle: From Filip de Leeuw, the designer of the just-released Spyderco friction folder, comes this titanium frame lock with an unusual blade shape.

Tighe Stick: The elaborate machining on this titanium framelock is the hallmark of designer Brian Tighe.

I have been using the Tenacious for over a year as my EDC. You will not be disappointed at that price point. Mine has held up real well. Nothing has come loose. There is still no blade play and I am pretty rough on knives. The blade touches up pretty quickly on sharpening.
