Yep, stone washed Levi jeans are too soft for honing, they washed away the abrasion. However for final honing , they make straighten the wire edge.

I have used the bottom of a cup for touch and then my work boots instead of my jeans.  A trick I learned from Donnie

If it works use it! I have used various rocks on construction projects with mixed results. Used my jeans too, new Wranglers work best!

Yesterday I needed a quick sharpening touch up on my Stockman knife while I was using it. So I used the bottom exposed ceramic ring on a coffee mug. Worked well. Just wish I had a Strop with me. I used my jeans to strop the blade. Anyone do this or any other quick on the spot sharpening method?

Case Stockman 2 questions:
1. Do all medium sized, square bolster Case Stockmans have a poem instead of a spey?

2. Does Case offer the ability to choose what type of blades are in a Stockman on a special order basis?

thanks sunil.  good snap on all 5 blades.  for an almost 40 year old knife, I would say it has aged well.

Nice looking Stockman. How is the fit and finish. The scales look a little gappy and unflush. (may just be the macro image)
