James...
Yes I have handled this gun and considered buying one. For a guy who likes steel guns the Kel-Tec guns are a change. I have one of their .32acp and love the little thing. It shoots like a champ and is very easy to breakdown and clean. I too have the Ruger duel cylinder in the Super Single Six I bought in 1969. A single shot mag .22 is just right. Being a single shot rifle it makes you take your time and make every shot count. In survival you don't want to engage others unless it can not be avoided. So the heavier larger calibers in a tactical rifle are not a priority.
Katadyn Water Filters -- do a web search for Katadyn.
Clint have you looked at the Kel-Tec PMR30? It's a .22WMR that has a 30 round mag. Ruger discontinued their 10/22mag, but if you can find one they are supposed to be as reliable as the long rifle version. I have a Ruger Single Six convertable and am stocked up on .22LR and WMR. My only long gun in WMR is a single shot.

Here is the link to purchase this water filter straw. They were developed for use in Africa by those people who are challenged to find clean water to drink. You can literally such muddy water from a stinking water hole and received clean and safe water. http://www.discountmylarbags.com/lifestraw-water-filter/
Yeah Ron when I get them. I just ordered so it will be awhile although Clint recommended then you might ask for his opinions or use of them?
Ok i have saved tons of dryer lint (well maybe ounces). Just have to get some parafin and use up the eggs so I'll have a carton. Just ordered a couple of lifestraws.
I know about where your talking about. The lifestraw is $20 each and can filter 280 gal. of water. You can drink the worst of waters and be ok. Small and compact. I also have the little hand pump with will filter out bacteria.
Take your egg cartons and fill the individual egg compartments with lint from the dryer. Then melt paraffin and pour in each compartment. Now you have an instant fire starter which can start a fire with sticks the size of wooden spoons...instead of the smaller match sticks.

There is no worry with nukes and the like. Dec 2012 will come and go and we will still be here blogging away.
By the way I;m in the northeast Texas Panhandle. Pretty much nothing around here some small towns but like I said 55 miles to the closest Wally World. I have most of the stuff except a water filtration system. I have 22 stuff but not mag. plus my ,45 and AR.
Well Clint I guess I dont have to worry, But my son,his wife and my 2 year old grandson just built a brand new house and his view from his patio is all the Oil storage tanks in Cushing Ok. I would post a picture but thats beyond my skill level on this blog. My daughter lives in Bartelsville,Ok. We were going to move over there but it will be 5 years so we'll see what happens.
If you live in NYC or Cushing, OK you should worry. If you don't than you have the edge.
