The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Knives have been made at the factory of Queen Cutlery Company of Titusville Pennsylvania for over 100 years. It is arguably the oldest and last American Cutlery that truly continues to produce knives in the same way as they were produced there when the factory opened in 1902. The factory’s first tenant was the Schatt & Morgan Cutlery Company: Queen Cutlery Company displaced Schatt & Morgan there in 1933. Queen City Cutlery Company first began to produce knives in 1918 around the end of the First World War, incorporated in 1922, and shortened their name to “Queen Cutlery Company” in January of 1946. Purchased by Daniels Family Cutlery Corporation on September 18, 2012

Cant wait to see everyone at the Show this weekend. The house sitter is chompin at the bit to be out of thier apt and staying in the house LOL
Fridays Knives live contest is Count the Queen and while I am at the show I will pick up something I think you will like for the prize :)
Well my faith is restored. Like you, I just like communication
You sound like me Jack! I know that problems happen. I just wish dealers would make sure they reply to customers in a timely fashion. That's all it takes to make a person feel better. When I'm left in the dark I see all kinds of monsters! LOL!
John, thanks much for the email to Mike Sullivan, owner of queencutlerycollectors.com. He replied this morning and let me know he would find out about my order and let me know. First he apologized for the delay in replying. So now I feel back to normal. Delays happen and now the communication I'm used to has been restored. I might even get the knife pretty soon. :) That's a joke. So, coffee is brewing, got a reply from Mr. Sullivan, gonna be a good day. :)
Howard, I did pre-order a knife once. That WAS torture. There were several on the same forum waiting for the release date. Of course we never knew an exact date. We had a timeframe to expect an email but that was it. If that wasn't bad enough when the knife was released there were only about 50 or so of the 600 total. So some got theirs on a first order first received. I had to wait for the second bunch. Then I was waiting and reading the posts of others telling how they loved the knives. lol At least that time I knew there was a long wait. I'm feeling better now about this order but when it was mentioned that someone had waited 3 months for an order I'll be honest, I wasn't a happy person. That can be expected in a pre-order or even a back order. In fact if I at least got a reply from 5 messages I sent I'd feel better. I think I need to stop talking about this.
Jack
Pre-orders are the best. Like you said, you pay and get all excited, and then 6 months later you've completely forgotten about it. When a knife finally shows up in the mail it's like a birthday present. Sometimes those are my favorite.
Jack,
I'm too old to get real impatient, but wait till you "pre-order" a knife! Lessee if I can remember the drug, popular back in the '70s - yeah, Valium. You'll need some. You read the specs., build up a thirst for it, order it (probably over $100.) and months go by. Hahahahha.
Jan, I assume the knife is coming based on the folks here and their faith in Mike who I guess runs the site I ordered from. I haven't heard from anyone (guess there's only one :)) at the site. I'm confident I'll get it also though. I have two inet knive sites I love but they don't sell what I'm looking for now. I'm interested in the "normal" type pocket knives I grew up with at the moment. One thing about knives is there are so many different types you'll stay busy experiencing even a few of the styles. My interests are limited to what I will carry. I'm tempted to buy a knive all the time until I ask myself honestly if I'd carry it. Maybe I'll start collecting someday but not today. Another reason not to collect is I don't have the money for that. I'm good for a few knives a year and that's it.
Me too, and I have the same experience with Frank and Reeds. I learned a while ago, The price on knives, if you stick with a dealer you know and like, will work out just as well over a year as trying to buy them here and there for a little less. Just my opinion. I am very pleased to hear that your knife will come, just a little confused on the timeframes
I am more than 2,000 miles away from Greg, at TSA Knives. When Greg mails me a knife I can count on it arriving on the second day after shipping. Frank's the same. Outstanding!!
I never wait past three days for a knife. Never.
Yes, I am spoiled. And I buy more knives from these folks. lol
