I'm only guessing here, because I'm not into Wenger Swiss Army Knives.
This was a Christmas gift from year before last.
At 10 layers, it's a beast.

I'm in a similar situation, D.L..

I only had 1 Swiss Army knife, for the longest time, then I kind of went a bit nuts.  I'm guessing, for my part, that when someone said "Swiss Army Knife", the first thing I'd think of is Victorinox.   I think that the Evo-Grip series came out after Victorinox bought out Wenger.

I'd like to see a knife come out with the best implements of both brands.

What a knife J.J.! A lot of useful tools in that thing. Not one that I would want to carry around in my pocket, but a cool knife, none the less.

That is a huge piece of pocket candy, JJ!

I'm actually a fan of Wenger knives. I don't have a preference for Wenger over Victorinox, nor Victorinox over Wenger.  My Victorinox One-Hand Trekker & similar knives (Side Chef, Forester), as well as the RangerGrip 78, are some of my favorites spanning my entire collection (the fact that these are all larger knives with locking blades is an important factor here).  However, I really prefer Wenger's micro-serrated scissors -- I wish Victorinox would have started doing that with their scissors...  And I really like those Evo-Grip scales.

And to think, I had very little interest in Swiss army style knives when I started collecting...

I've seen that also, Dennis.  Definitely a work of art.

  1. The Wenger really wouldn't be so awkward if it wasn't for the compass layer.  I definitely see some good points with Wenger, but I still favor my Deluxe Tinkers.

It would be all the exercise I need carrying that beast around!!  Then again, they probably could have  added just a few more tools to make it truly a "heavyweight"!
