An interesting collection of blades I received today.
The Ka-Bar fish knife is near mint. Almost pristine. The sweet yellow handles have no chips or damage. Both blades look new as a baby's butt...never sharpened, no scratches, shiny as can be. The Ka-Bar over Stainless tang stamp is from 1951-60, so nearly 60 years old.
The Robeson Daddy Barlow on the other hand has been well used. The Robeson over ShurEdge stamp on the Tang is challenging to read, the handles have small damage and the blade looks old. I can't guess at the age of this one but a book I have says Robeson started using "strawberry" bone in 1945 and prior to 1940 used green & brown bone. This looks like it could be brown bone. The other choice they used later was Delrin and this could be Delrin. Just hard to tell.
The Case Tested XX Barlow is a pretty candystripe. The handles are in good shape. The blades and tangs are strong for the age.--from 1914-20. The Case tang mark has the long tail from the C under the ase. So this knife looks great considering it is almost 100 years old.

Yup, I only have 3 or 4 fish knives. but this one has quickly become my favorite! It's a beautiful yellow. Hope it doesn't scare off the fish if I take it with me.
You done good, Lee.
