Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I've been giving this a lot of thought and after spending a couple of weeks there. I figured it was time to make the move. So as of 6-1-19 I will be an Arkansas resident, My Sister and her Husband have lived there for 30+ years.

She's been asking me to come stay for a week or so and I finally did.

I moved to a small town called Glenwood, its about 35 miles east of Hot Springs. A 6 hour drive I did not enjoy as it was hot and I got really tired towards the end of the trip

Just before the move I wound up in the hospital with pnemonia with sepis and it was discovered that what I thought was a minor issue is much more serious. As I've had issues with my Heart for years but pretty much ignored them. Seems I waited a bit to long. I have been diganosed with congestive Heart failure and have a enlarged heart.......... Not the news I wanted to hear........... But anyway on a happier note there are a few more tests and  I'l know more then.

I've been a bit restricted as far as activities go and darn it I tire a bit to easily But overall I'm still kicking and grinning. So I'm still here and plan to be for a while yet.

Good news'

Went to the hospital yesterday so my Dr could do the thing with the cath and get a close look at whats going on with my heart. Well all is not as bad as I had been led to believe by other Dr's. It is a bit enlarged and there is some very minor blockage in one artery but a diet change and less laying around....... more walking and excerise will greatly improve things.

I still need to take meds to keep my blood pressure under control. So no new meds prescribed.....hurray!! So I am a very happy camper.

Time for another update. Seems things were going on pretty good for a while. Then my blood pressure got out of control with some very high numbers and I was feeling light headed and also very bad. One more trip to the Dr's office........ almost wound up in the hospital.

Med changes, some helped others did not and wound up getting a bit stronger med of the same type I'm taking now. The high numbers have gone back down and I feel somewhat better but very watchful as to my blood pressurs.

   More later

Well time for a bit of an update. Still staying with my Sister and her Husband as there has been a delay in getting getting the house I'm moving into ready and that's not a major problem.

As to my health issues. Working with my Dr we have finally got my type two diabetes under control and its been very stable for some time and a lot of issues that I have had are cleared up. Best yet is not having to use insulin. Needles scare me.

I have a couple of med's that I take twice a day and watch my diet and everything's good to go. As to seeing a heart Dr not yet, still looking for one. I may need to go to Hot Springs or possibly Little Rock. Not quite sure on that as I'd much rather stay a bit closer to home..

Been doing a lot of walking, not very far at first as I found myself tiring pretty quick but over time I've got to where I can go a fair distance. Yesterday was bit of a milestone for me as I was able to go down to Broadway St (2blocks) and that was going downhill and the return was uphill.

I got back to the house took a break for about 30minutes then climbed the stairs in the house (2story) 3times as I had already been up and down them 3 or 4 times earlier in the morning. I keep pushing myself as Its hard for me to just sit and wait for someone else to make a choice for me.

I've been pretty active pretty much all my life and when I took early retirement I got bored pretty quick so I took a part time job and after that I got into scrapping out old computers. I learned a lot about the hardware end of them and quite a bit about the software end although I'm much more comfortable working the hardware end. Software still makes me scratch my head and wonder WTH.............. lol.

Anyway that's about for a while..............  Wally G.

Wally, good luck with everything.  Yes, really not the news you wanted to hear, but I hope you'll be able to deal with it on your terms.

And since it sounds like you'll have a bit more sedentary time on your hands, you're a good writer, I hope you'll use the time to do more of that!

Take care, & I wish you well, & please keep us updated as you see fit.
