Praying
Prayers up for Brett, the caregivers and family too.
Prayers from SC.

An update from my niece

January 1st pops had a TIA. Which he recovered from quickly. Upon farther testing they have found that both his main arteries are blocked going to his brain. Last night a piece of the blockage broke off and caused a stroke in his lower brain by his spinal column. The doctor wants to start him on Plavix and talk to the surgeon that does the angioplasty.  He remains in the hospital at least until that discussion has been had

Praying for Brett, but also praying for you Jan. You know that I know, wish I could help you like you helped me.

Still praying Jan!

I do not know a way to say this that it wont be a shock so here it goes.

Our John McCain has left us.  He went to his reward on January 10th, his brother returned to Arkansas this evening and we were on his list of whom to notify.  It was obvious that Joe McCain was having a difficult time placing this call and I pray his burden was lightened as we spoke of John and what he meant to us.  John shared so much of his upbringing and his love of his brothers that speaking with Joe was like speaking to a friend.  Please know that we were all in John's heart also.  Joe said the last time they were all together was at Thanksgiving and John shared stories of friends here and how he was proud to contribute to so many folks love of knives.  That sure sounds like our John.

Somehow I think on John's agenda now is to have a seat with other members we have lost and talk knives.

Good bye my friend, you are already missed

An incredible person, our John. Always there to help anyone that asked. An incredible source of information, and a great friend that I will always remember meeting here with a smile. Take care, John. iKC loses an incredible friend, member and staff member. Stay sharp!

Such a loss. John was one of the first to greet me here on IKC, and helped me identify some of my older knives. I noticed he had not been very active lately, so I am sincerely sorry to hear that he will no longer be with us. I treasure the conversations we shared. Good bye my friend.

I am shocked at the loss of John McCain, We were good friends and we referred to each other as our verbal sparring partner. We had many great conversations here. He will be deeply missed.

I'll see you on the other side my friend.

Will really miss John.  Praying for his family.

Wow! I am shocked and saddened to learn of John's passing.

The line is not only getting shorter, it also seems to be moving faster.

John was a good man. He will be missed

"The photos in the previous post are of an old German pruning type knife I just aquired. It surely is interesting, and quite old."
