The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
These are a few of the daggers I have in a rather large family of such knives. From left to right: Gil Hibben Western Boot Knife, Ebay 10" Special, Ebay 13" Special, Rough Ryder Silver Solder, Gil Hibben Silver Shadow, Gil Hibben Silver Shadow II, Gil Hibben Boot Knife. Below Center: CFK Arkanasas Toothpick.
These are mostly show pieces these days, although very capable of being used. So why own them? Great question. For me, it's what they represent both in historical context and in modern times. Whether a fashion statement, side arm, or military dress accessory, the dagger in all of it's sizes and manifestations have been around since the knife was first carried., and I think they are wonderful!

Agreed! They are wonderful! Nice family photo. And thank you for listing what they are -- I recognized 2 of the Hibbens, and the CFK logo on the toothpick, but I am going to have to look into that Rough Ryder in the center... I like the composition of this photo as well -- I've been struggling with composition recently, partially due to lighting, partially due to trying to get maybe too much into each individual photo recently, and partially due to just feeling scattered in life. Hopefully I'll settle down soon -- I've got a lot of knife photography to catch up on!
Thanks for the inspiration!
