I Wish People Would Quit Giving Me Old Knives-NOT !! (photos included)

Here are a couple of WWII military issue knives a former employee gave me that she inherited from her uncle.I explained to her that they had collector value, but she insisted on giving them to me, knowing my love (mania) for knives.

Kinfolks combat/utility knife with Kinfolks etched sheath

Oh those are nice John...Introduce me to these people LOL! I have the Cattaraugus 225Q, (Currently on loan to the Jan and Donnie Carter Collectoin) I really like also the Kinfolks Knives, you just don't see them much.

John,

Some folks just want their families love f the knives themselves to continue, even if outside the family.  Those are the kind of knives mean more than any you can purchase.  The kinfolks is just awesome!  You dont see them in good shape

Dang it, somebody gave me another knife!!  LOL This one is special to me if not to anyone else. This is my dad's old Hammer Brand knife (circa 1945-1955) I don't normally do much in way of restoration, but in this case I had to.(BTW,dad's 90 yrs old )He had used this knife apparently to open paint cans and such, so both the handles and blades were coated in paint and the blades had extensive rust. The handles and bolsters have some dents and dings in them still ( maybe he got confused and used it as a hammer?? Anyhow, here it is, and I love it---

That John is a treasure! So happy that's in your hands now. (Great job on fixing it a little too!)

Those are both nice knives and good collectors to.

I feel the same way when people give me knives. Whether collectible or not I am happy to have them.

Wow, real nice. You must be a good man for people to give you these. Good things come to those that do good. I to, haven't seen too many Kinfolks knives in that good of condition.

Thank you so much for the very kind words, Robert. There is no halo on my head, to be sure, but my philosophy is to go through life with a sense of humor, and treat others as I would like to be treated .It seems to have worked pretty well so far and I'm fast approaching the big 60. Thank you once again.
