The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Friends,
SO I have complained about eBay but not enough, frankly it's overwhelming to decide what more print worthy than somethings else you see the next day.... Ergo writer's block AKA Lazy writer syndrome.....
Sorry I have been consumed too but I do have some great stats..... CASE Vintage knives are up about 20% in volume of offerings, overall Case Volume of offering has increased from 5,400 in September to over 7,000 now.
Buzz Parker (who could be responsible for the gain alone - just a joke but he pumps out the Case knives about 200 per day) cracked open a long lost pallet of "Encyclopedia" collections he's breaking up and offering for you Pattern Collectors there's a chance to pick up a limited edition - true limited edition of a Pattern. Like Buzz, hes having fun with it spooning them out here and there. Speaking of Buzz, and eBay, they - Buzz and friends - have introduced the 9th version of the Pocket Guide / a collaboration of Parker, Foster and Henley and Henley and Buzz will sign a copy if you order now off eBay... I have not seen it yet but I understand it's got a GEC section which is a shock and they carry forward not through to 200X I'm told.
But for tonight's entertainment.....
Unlike the show on eBay nightly, I just want to give you the chance to see a live knife auction in process.
Open up you IE browser to at least two tabs - on one tab insert this link... It is the catalog that is up at auction this weekend by Bruce Voyles the former Editor in Chief of Blade Magazine.
On the first tab on your browser insert this link (cut and paste)
http://www.jbrucevoyles.com/A50/a50-1.htm
Then in the next tab on your browser put the prices being bid real-time in the other tab and toggle from a photo to the results..... Very Very Interesting as they said on Laugh-in in the '60's
http://jbrucevoyles.cusauctions.com/?auction=auc50&SID=30*65787...
It continues through tomorrow....... (but check it out anytime & the other auciton too)
See what you think about those knives you'd bid on or have and comment on this blog over the next few days.
NOTE: if you miss the real-time auction - use the same links to see the results anytime in the future. Also I invite you for entertainment to look at the Voyles DEC KNCM PROTOYPE FLOP......These knife went for a fraction of the expected amounts. They are just popping up on eBay and last night a Whittler prototype went for $500 + but see the sales price.... Now can I be sure that's where that whittler last night was bought.... no.... but they have come out with vengeance in the last 5 days for some odd reason - SORT eBay for CASE KNIFE KNIVES PROTOTYPE or PROTOTYPE KNIVES KNIFE and catch the Bulldog and Parker and Queen etc.
AND>>>>> While you are there, take a chance to read Voyles take on the "State of the State of the Knife Biz" (lower right on his home page) and feel free to comment about it all anytime.....
I think Scott has been biting his cheek to comment about the "State of the State" rhetoric - so give him a few days and check back... I promise you a lively encounter....
God Bless You and our Troops Overseas and There Families and Our Families Here,
Frank
