It is a limited edition for Battle Box and I caught it on sale for half price. Its gone
to full price now. If I can keep my wife from taking it I plan on carrying it for
awhile and see.
Rome,
Finding an under 30$ to put in your pocket and work in the yard is good. Find out a few weeks later that it holds an edge and still locks tight is GREAT!.
I am interested in what you discover about the use of the Bastion Gear Kram Gentleman's Knife
Here is what I have been carrying around the house and yard lately.
It is a Grand Way brand knife. The web site says it is made in the
Ukraine but there is no made in stamp on the knife. It looks similar
to a lot of the mid range Chinese knives. G-10 scales and 8Cr13MoV
steel, sells for under $30. But I have used it a good bit and it seems
to be a pretty good knife. Holds edge well, locks up tight and fits the
hand well.
Here is another poor picture, one day I will learn how to do better.

A great article on the V-42

Michael,
That IS an interesting story and I never would have thought about calling one that
No tent pegs here. Thanks for the story and pic. Interesting history Michael.
I like bayonets...but only the pushing end! Don't want to be on the other end.
1941 Johnson rifles have a reciprocating barrel and would not operate effectively with a heavy bayonet. So Johnson came up with a "skeleton" bayonet which was much lighter in weight. The resulting "bayonet/knife" was not well received by the troops. It was pretty much useless except maybe as a tent peg. If your rifle functions by the barrel reciprocating .....and it has a bayonet on the end and you stick it into somebody.....your gun isn't going to function?
I love anything odd that has a story to it. Thus, I will buy any 1941 Johnson bayonet which I can afford. If any of you have such a "tent peg" and will part with it...please let me know. Here is a picture:
