A BLOGGING KNIFE COMMUNITY- HOW COOL IS THAT?!
A few years ago, when I started blogging at
The News at ElephantToenails.com, I looked far and wide to find other folks blogging on knife topics. Not! Then over the last two years, I was able to find one about every 6 months- what's that about 4 or 5 now.
Almost every knife blog I was able to find was strictly a knife review. No interesting commentary, no editorials, no off-the-wall or humorous knife related posts, no knife industry or current event news, and for sure no knife history, so I started
CutleryNewsJournal about 10 months ago.
Now, our community here is providing collectors a built-in way to express themselves (just keep it tasteful, LOL) in writing and with pictures.
We now have a knife community of bloggers! In fact, our blogs provide our membership with news, reviews, editorials, humor and whatever other tasteful topics we want.
It's our own neighborhood community paper- the iKC Daily News. And I love it! (
don't be surprised if in a few years from now, our own cooperatively published blogs here at iKC make up the largest knife news and information source in all the collector world! (I'm not kidding either.))
Oh, btw- if you don't know what a blog or blogger is- that's OK. A blog is a column or article (or post) written by the blogger- or, in our case, one of our members.
