Quote of the day...

If God grants me a day where I smell woodsmoke, coffee, gunpowder, wet dog, worn leather, bourbon and a friendly pipe, I will... truly....reek... of happiness....

In Memoriam
So just how healthy is the vintage knife market right now?

Since I began seriously collecting old knives, I repeatedly heard folks say the buying market for old knives would eventually die out, especially since the younger knife enthusiasts prefer the more modern knives to collect and carry. This speculation always caused concern, not simply because I had a fortune tied up in old knives, but because the older knives are our windows to the past, a glimpse into the life and times of early American cutlery history. And while not everyone is a history…

Thankful for supporters.

I want to thank all the people that make it a point to a active member on iKC.I get on and want to see how my friends are doing. When your not on I worry, some of us are here everyday. What a bond that is....only we know what that is. iKC to me is like a neighbor. If I don't see it I miss it.

Again to all active members, your not members, your friends. When we are not buying knives this is what we do...sharing knives...talking knives...living knives. This is home!

How i spent my birthday

Some people go out and party on their birthday.  I took it as an excuse to take a couple days vacation from work and continue to build the "Wall-O-Knives in my Cutlery Cavern.   I now have an area that will hold 96 scout/camp knives instead of the old 75 knife area.  The old area is going to pay homage to Red Ryder.  This in turn is opening up an area to display more fixed blades!

The area is currently 12 feet 8 inches  (3.86 meters).  There are 188 hooks for hanging…

Boys Deer Success!!

Boy busy busy weekend!!  Both boys had success in the Arkansas youth season this weekend.  Not monster bucks but boy they will taste good!  Gun was a Howa 223 youth model.  My oldest boys Zachs deer was about 120 yards or so, my youngest boy Bryces was about 75 yards out.  Both made near perfect shots.  This is my oldests boys third deer and my youngests boys first ever.  I used my Kershaw to skin and debone them out in the field!…
