What is your favorite wooden knife handles?

There is a lot of different exotic wooden knife scales out there from all over the world. There's burls, stripes, checks, well almost too many types to list. It seems almost every country has some type of wood that makes excellent knife handles. The question at hand is what is your favorite? If you have more than one, list them all. Please.

Are You Happy With Your Collection?

With all the time, effort and expense are you satisfied with your collection? Did you buy the right kind of knives, over the years? What would you change, if you could, in your collecting habits?

These are some questions I think, we all ask ourselves, in private. I know some have large collections, some have small and some have everything in between. No matter the size or the value, are you happy with that collection? I know we have all bought a knife here or there, that was a…

Self DefenseWeapons-luxury or neccesity?? You Decide--

Let me preface this by saying I am a typical 60 year old law abiding citizen-In my 20's I worked as a bartender, then in retail management until my retirement- However, I have had people try to kill me with a car ,boulders, knives, hatchets, etc. in what would seem to be a normal life-Not to mention, that Danny Rollings, the Florida serial killer who killed U of Florida coeds was captured in my yard !! I have had to defend myself twice with a gun, once with a knife, and once with  a…

Central KY Knife Show - 5-9-14

Was a great knife show today as usual. Lots of knives, vendors, and people. Saw and talked with 3 of our members: Jim Thompson, Ken M., and Roger Cunningham. Gina Smith was there to but I couldn't find her. Did not see Adam Archer, he may come tomorrow. Also did not see Charles Reed.

I went down every isle and looked at lots of knives and even bought some.

Just what knife lovers need to hear

(What’s written is an opinion on my part)

I don’t know what’s in the drinking water of Connecticut but at the high school in a neighboring town a 16 yr. old knifed to death a girl who refused to go to the junior prom with him. 7 AM, just before classes, in the main hall, in front of everyone he cut her throat. It’s in all the media, over and over. Her funeral was today. It’s an incredibly sad situation. It’s a nice town; a nice high school. Everyone’s asking “Why?”

Today’s…
