Maxpedition 3” x 5” notebook cover review

I admit I like Maxpedition gear, but sometimes I come across something that is worthy of sharing.  Such is the case with my new Maxpedition 3” x 5” notebook cover (SKU:3302, MSRP $15.99).  This is the perfect Maxpedition gear to carry a 3” x 5” notebook, or 3” x 5” recipe cards.  I am finding this is increasingly important for those of us who suffer from Can’t Remember Stuff (CRS).

You can find many reviews of these on YouTube, this is just an introduction and it shows you how I set…

Can I get your advice please?

I have 3 knives that I want to get but can only afford one of them in Feb as my splurge of the month and I want to know what you fine folks think I should do...

The 3 knives are...

The Lion Steel SR1-A (Red)

The Zero Tolerance 0801 (Ti)

The Cold Steel Espada (Large, the XL is a bit too much IMHO)

If it was your choice which knife would you get, all three of them appeal to me for different reasons, all of them have something special that…

New Blood in the fold, a brief hello...

Howdy folks, wanted to first say thank you to those of you who sent me warm welcoming wishes on my page here, so thank you folks. My name is Michael, I'm a 50 year old dude from Philadelphia who has been into collecting swords and daggers for over 40 years and just recently switched over to collecting folding and fixed blade knives because I have run out of room to store swords and larger blades in my house. I started collecting just a month ago, with a few inexpensive folders from Amazon…

Larger Sharp things

I guess most of us tend to have some sort of interest in other sharp things , swords etc.  I have just been looking at an impressive web site called myArmoury.com . I went there initially to look at information about the hardness of steel in old swords . I thought maybe some folks here might like to have a look .  Maybe if it is of interest then Jan or Steve may wish to put this post in a different area ?…

Thanks for such a warm welcome

I'm brand new here and in the last couple of weeks I have received the most warm welcome from many member email's. Thanks to everyone for reaching out with such kind messages! If I knew how to navigate this site, I would like to add you all to my friends list. When I just loged in it said I didn't have any messages? I sure got plenty of kind email messages to my listed email address. I would like to know how to reach those good men and women! Thanks again :)

How and where do you take a stand?

Some states say they have the right to dictate what you can carry and why, simply because you have chosen to live there.  Now there seems to be a heated discussion about what your allowed to see.  Thats right, pictures of "weapons" such as a SAK knife are no longer your choice to see LOL

Google Adwords has long taken the stand that folks that sell guns cannot advertise with them.  Then it was companies that incorporated the word KNIFE in their business name.  Yes even a site where we…

KnifeMaker
Dealer " Rep " Days at SMKW, Sevierville, Tennessee. October 17 - 19

I had the good fortune, last week end, to spend most of three solid days at cutlery mecca - Smokey Mountain Knife Works.  Saying it was an educational and fun week end would be classed as a dramatic understatement,   Taking three days off from the shop was a welcome change of pace.  One pass through the aisles of the 100,000 retail space and you may find your head spinning.  As I stood behind the sales counter I definitely noticed that glazed look on many of the faces filing by - especially…

An approach to knife collecting...

Knife collecting is certainly an enjoyable hobby. Different people collect for different reasons and most people collect for multiple reasons. Some of the reasons are:

* Enjoyment. Life is a challenging experience for most people. It comes with good times, bad times and a lot of time that is best quantified as being neither good nor bad...but more a means to one of the other outcomes. Having enjoyable hobbies makes our life journey more pleasant and provides a nice…

Donnie & Jan will not be going to Ohio

As much as I hate this, we will not be going on to Ohio from here.  Something has come up at home and we need to be in Tampa on Wed.  With my health a trip back to Tampa and then up to Ohio is just not going to be possible.

If the trip home were not absolutely necessary, I would cancel it but alas it is not something I can pass on.  I apologize to all that are going, there are so many I wanted to meet.  There is another one in April and I have every intention of making it there if I…

Fairbairn~Sykes Fighting Knife (commonly known as the British Commando knife)

My dad always carried a gentleman type knife on him when i was young and he gave me my first knife when i was a boy. It was a Victorinox and i felt real grown up and loved it.

Talking about the knives he had own and about how to be careful with them as he had some scars to show how easily accidents happen, he told me he, as a little boy, got a knife from a British commando at the end of WWII when Eindhoven was liberated. It was used heavily and the tip was broken off and…

Historical Events for Year 1902

W. R Case Son eventually evolved to the W. R. Case and sons as per knife history.

W. R. Case & Son Cutlery – The Beginning

A review of my new Glock – Knife!

I was a little surprised when I casually asked in the chat room here if anyone had ever tried a Glock knife.  The general response was “Glock makes a knife?”  I have always known about the Glock knives but had never been curious enough to try…
