Antique silver plated cast metal handle of Medusa, most famous of the Greek monsters known as Gorgons. This knife was the First Annual fantasy knife by Kit Rae. KR15-A Archeros - 3rd annual knife with art print and cold cast statue by Kit Rae

hi everyone, I thought I'd do something a little different today, instead of a sword, let's take a look at a Kit Rae knife.

It's the 3rd annual knife called Archeros. It's one of Kit Rae's fantasy knives called The Blades of Chaos. The Limited Edition( the one I have) comes with a cold cast statue and is numbered. I have number 1298/1500. As part of the story, the statue depicts the elf Anvari holding Archeros high in triumph. This is just a beautiful piece. The knife has an Overall Length… Continue

Online Knife Collectors Beware

At the risk of alarming folks, I learned today the current administration (the White House) has put out a request for bids (RFP) for contractors to collect/capture/harvest and create a permanent record of comments made on social networking sites. While the network host of iKnifeCollector is not specifically named, many others are: FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter and YouTube, in addition to others.

As reported by… Continue

Kit Rae Exotath sword

Hi everyone,

Each day, if possible, I will try to post a blog about one of my knives and post pictures and if I can I will also show how it is displayed in my home. I find the displaying of knives very important. I never understood people who buy knives or swords and leave them in a box in a dark closet!! my knives and swords are always displayed in a manner that shows them at their best.

the first piece I will talk about today, is actually a sword. This sword was my first ever… Continue

Interesting...very interesting- the habits of our members

Want to see a group of individuals- each with their own preferences and habits? Then read my recent blog post here asking our members what they look at first each time they log back into our community.

It is all over the board. Some folks head straight to the Members page to welcome our newest community members; many have bookmarked their own My Page and check it out first, while… Continue

Here is Nessmuk's book "Woodcraft" in a 1.5mb PDF File (Below Photos)

This is the version now on the internet. It was made from the 1964 printing, and it has a ton of errors from the early OCR scanner. Nothing better is available.

A good friend has loaned me an 1894 original book, and I am scanning it now. It will take a while to do all the work, read it word for word (my 500'th reading, anyway) and make sure every word is correct. I'm going to add a great index so you can look up any word you want to find, and you can do a text… Continue

Knife Pouches and cases

What are some good knife sleeves and cases.
Im talking about some good single blade options and some multiple blade options for storage.
I have a few blades that i want to store in singles pouches and it can be to just keep in my desk like that or possible belt mountable.
Also where can I buy them?

iKC Groups

If you have been a member here for very long you have probably observed our groups and their activity levels- some of them take off, while others struggle and even some others are vacated. Starting and managing an iKC Group isn't a slam dunk- it takes time and energy, and commitment on the leaders part, as well as active member participation.

There are two factors I've observed (and experienced with my own groups) that have the biggest impact on their success. One is the overall… Continue

iKC Trivia: What's your answer?

I"m really not big into single question blog posts. They go into a Forum- instead of a community-wide blog post, but I decided to bring it before the entire community.

The question for the day is this: What is the average age of our membership?

The winner gets......well, I have to ponder that one. Maybe an iKC Shirt once we get them priced out, designed, printed, etc, etc. :)

Closest to without going over. One… Continue
