The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
With expected consistency, all knife enthusiasts see articles, videos and postings that talk about the level of quality in a variety of knives. Certainly, we've all heard people proclaim that certain knives have the “best quality”. Just as often, we've heard other people espouse an opinion on that same knife...that is contrary to what the other person claimed. So all this hubbub got me to thinking; Quality...what is it? Frankly, that's a BIG question. It's a subject matter of massive…

We got 4 inches in a few hours then - poof - it quit. After getting the walks shoveled, I had to play with the dog and take some pictures. Isis the wonder dog ( you wonder what she's going to do next ) loves the snow. We play catch with tennis balls until they get lost under the snow, then she catches snowballs I toss to her. Later, we watch the squirrels eat peanuts that my wife has put out. The little house is my wife's sunshed where she grows flowers in the winter. She has a cherry…

A New Year is about to start and all of us hope your New Year is happy and healthy. 2012 promises to be an exciting year for knife collecting. new shows, new blades, new colors, new patterns and yes perhaps some new pricing!
Changes of all kinds may occur in 2012, including shifts in priorities, in planning, with associations, clubs and our very knife rights may be challenged or face serious erosion. Think for a minute about the strategic planning…

Here's wishing all iKC members a very blessed Christmas and a happy
and fulfilling 2012.
iKC is great in allowing me to interact with people with similar
interest internationally. it has also been instrumental in keeping me off
the streets, forcing me to take up photography as well as upgrade my computer skills.

This has been a great year for collecting knives and with the end coming soon I thought that maybe some of us might like to post a picture or two of knives acquired during the year. Lets see some of those knives great and small.

Hello to all!
I am a serious collector of both damascus knives and damascus billets. I am currently buying billets from such makers as Robert Eggerling (quilt damascus and slanted quilt damascus), Chad Nichols, Devin Thomas, Robert Calcinore, and others.
I am looking for unsual damascus billets made by anyone. I have been told that some Swedish blacksmiths are creating some very innovative and unusual damascus patterns - one in fact apparently has made 5…

Our first stop was in Rogers Ark. at the A.G. Russell Store. I walked in there in my overalls and my beard is a little on the bushy side. I Knew at once that I was a little out of place in there. I wanted a Russell knife for my collection though so I decided to look around though. I found a Ceramic button lock folder that I liked and finally got someone to wait on me and got it paid for. All in all I can say that they where pretty rude and that I will never go back. I don't think that they…

Thanksgiving is a uniquely American tradition.
It was not called Thanksgiving at the time, but what we recognize as the first Thanksgiving feast was celebrated in 1621 by the pilgrims of Plymouth colony along with about 90 Wampanoag Indians.
The Pilgrims had suffered through a devastating winter in which nearly half their number died. Without the help of the Indians, which the Pilgrims were thankful for, all would have perished.

Next weekend the wife and I are going hunting. The first stop is going to be the A.G. Russell store in Rogers Ark. From there we are heading to Branson Missouri. Then to Lebanon Missouri. We will also stop at any antique stores along the way.
A whole weekend of knife hunting. I'm ready to go.
