The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Hey everybody Marty here with another gun and knife show .I attended this show earlier today in a town regularly visited by myself. I have to say I was a little disappointed compared to the last show I attended in Cape Girardeau the admission there was $6 and females got in for free. Today's event was $8 and females also had to pay. This event there were maybe 1 or 2 tables of knives and it didn't come close to having 300 tables like…

Everyone know that the economy is faltering BIG time. Now with constant headlines showing current unemployment, job losses, mortgage defaults and a government that seems unable or unwilling to commit to a course of action, it is inevitable that the perceived value of material items declines. With that said where do you see the value of collector knives in the future? Will that custom Stryker still be worth what you paid for it? Or how about a Platts Jumbo Toenail? Will collectible knives…

I am researching my next knife article. The article will be about unconventional combat knives. I just finished and shipped out an article about Spyderco's Warrior which was designed by Guy Rafaeli who is an expert martial artist who lives in Israel. Rafaeli teaches knife fighting to the SF of the Israel Defense Forces. His rendition of the Warrior is made for only one thing….taking out bad guys nose to nose and toes to toes. Check out the Warrior on Spyderco’s web site. …

On the heels of AG Russell's statement...and my own blog on "Where does that knife come from?", this blog posting attempts to tackle another controversial issue; Chinese-made knives. Before I really get into answering the title's question of "When is a Chinese-made knife NOT ok?", I should probably lay a little groundwork:
* I have Chinese-made knives in my collection. I do. They are from a variety of manufacturer's brands. Some are liner locks. Some are slip joints. Some are…

No other hobby transcends so many other hobbies, sports, and occupations like the knife hobby does. It also transcends trades, careers, finances, politics, etc. For example, there might be a banker talking to a ditch digger about knives and enjoying the conversation, where usually they would have nothing in common.
I have multiple hobbies, like many people - Some…

Just got back from this event about an hour ago. It was $6 dollar admission to get in but it was well worth it my fellow collectors....This place was packed full of goodies.......over 400 tables full of guns and knives and military /hunting gear.It was like a little boys dream came true all in one spot. When they tell you over 400 table and vedor's they were not lying..I had people coming up to me and asking if the guns i had were forsale, but did'nt end up trading them off just yet. but I…

Recently, I read multiple postings on the AG Russell forum. People were discussing the pros and cons of where knives are made. Predominantly, the discussion seemed to revolve around the somewhat controversial topic of whether or not people should buy knives that aren't made in the USA. Reviewing those postings got my mind to thinking...so I've decided to share some of those thoughts here.
First, I think that it's important that we be able to voice our opinions without people…

This is the Tom Ray knife that I have been trying to send.
The knife belonged to a friends grand dad. The back spring was broken. I found a junk knife on e bayand had the knife rebuild. All The parts with the exception of the back spring are orginal. I would like for somebody to give me a idea what the knife is worth. I will more than likely sell the knife as it is the only toe nail I have and most of my collection is case pocket knives and these things sell to high for me to…

I just received my copy of the Nov. issue of Knives Illustrated which will be on the newstands the first of October. Check it out.
My article is "Tomahawks as Tactical Weapons". I explored the Vietnam Tomahawk issue with a former LRRP Ranger who was there from 1968 to 1969. I would like some feedback from this group about the subject of are tomahawks
For instance, I have a Navy Seal friend of 18 years service as a Seal and retired from the Navy with over 20 years…

I made this from all leftovers (apart from the sheath), and it made me wonder. Does anyone else recycle/re-use/fiddle around with leftovers like I tend to do?

For a long time we at iKnife Collector have had or discussed in some form or another the ability to review knives for our membership. Many, many people, organizations, websites and YouTube users, do currently provide knife reviews. Some are good, some not so.
But as our membership continues to grow we felt this was an important thing to bring to our community. In doing that we created a group called A Sharper Review. In it we have attempted and will continue to attempt to standardize…
