I'm excited to report our first-ever iKC club knife is in. A. G. called me today as they finished their inspection of each knife in our order.
I'll be emailing all you members who have reserved one so far. I want to get them in and double check the shipping amount and then will let you know.
A. G. said the exotic Monkey Thorn scales (handles) look fabulous. I asked him to snap me a pic so I could show you the actual knife and black belt holster…

The bidding on the Prototype #48 Dogleg and $100 Gift Certificate is up to $200 as of this weekend. That's a great start and we've got just under 2 weeks left before the auction ends on 6/22. I'm going to keep reminding you that even if you're not interested in bidding, pass the word along to your friends and fellow collectors. Not only is this an opportunity to grab onto a genuine Great Eastern Cutlery Prototype, it's your chance to make a contribution to help out our wounded Vets coming back…

I made the new issue of Blade Mag. in the Knife I Carry section. I had just got home from work when the picture was taken. I was sure surprised when I seen that I was in this issue. Thorvan Patten JR.

This is for the FYI file.
The Case XX Vault program took effect January 1, 2008.
Four popular patterns and all related tool works were locked away inside the “Case XX Vault” for a period of at least three years before being reintroduced to the public.
The reasons to institute this program are…

I saw this the other week and in disbelief ordered it.
First off is was promoted as real Abalone Shell. OK and it is...
Then it was a Medium Trapper not a bad size knife. And of course nickel Silver Bolsters, Brass Liners but one more thing quartered in Nickel Silver Expansion Joints (as I called them).
The "Buy - Now" was $9…

Just got word from A. G. Russell our 2010 iKC Club Knives are expected any day. Once he receives them and inspects our knives he'll send them to me.
At that point, I'll get the shipping cost and email all of you who have ordered one (or more) with the final price. The price is $99 plus shipping.
At that point, each of you will send me payment and I'll get them right out.
So, for any iKC members who are interested but…

This last year has been a blast! As each of you joined iKC we got a chance to know some things about you. Little about your personality, your EDC, the knives you like, and usually other stuff too.
We are all different- and some more so than others, but nonetheless, we all have contributed to iKC celebrating our first birthday today.
Yes, it was April 14th, 2009 when iKC was born. It was slow going there for a while, but slowly as each…

As of 3/31/10 Fehrman Knives put up an explination on their community blog site as to why the Blood Moon Knife will NOT be used in the next Stallone movie "The Expendables".
Seems this was a terrible mis-understanding that even the magazine "Tactical Knives" thought it was going to happen. I know I'm very disapointed, I was hoping to have a collectors item and even went out and bought two copies of Tactical Knives just for the cover!
Still haven't found out just who IS going to make…

In case you have been under a rock over the last month or so, Apple's newest piece of computing technology- the iPad- hit the stores yesterday.
Yes, even though I pre-ordered one that will ship late April with 3G, I couldn't stand it and blasted top-down to the nearest Apple Store and grabbed one for the family :-) It is the regular WI-FI (non-3G) model.
So, I am happy to report iKC is now live and able to be viewed on the fabulous…

Man oh man! 2010's first quarter is pretty much "history"...and now the big boys are releasing their new knife models. There are some really cool production knives hitting the market right now! Particularly from Benchmade and Spyderco. If you've checked out my page recently, you've seen photos of the new Benchmade 941 Onslaught and Bone Collector knives. Just yesterday, I received my new Spyderco Endura 4 with the gray FRN handle scales and full flat-ground blade. Talk about smoking cool! Cool…

July issue of Tactical Knives has a great artical on the Blood Moon Knife and about who's going to be in the Expendables movie. I talked with someone at Fehrman Knives (when I bought the Blood Moon), I think it was Eric Fehrman, and he stated the movie was put back to a later date.
I hope its going to be good because with all the headliners, (I counted seven), movies tend to be....well not up to specs so to speak. Better grab an issue!

Some of the great knife makers here at iKC are making knives with handles of a very rare "
Sticky Pine" wood that came to my attention recently. The wood comes from a 300+ year old pine that was cut in the year 1900 then the stump languished in a seasonally wet swamp for 110 years more until it was harvested last year. It has about as much resin as any specimen ever found. If you search the forum for "sticky pine" you can see some of…

I bet everyone has their own stories about how they got into knives, and from what I have heard it usually starts with "I got my first knife when I was 6", etc. Surprisingly, I didn't gain interests in knives until this past fall.
I go to school in Rochester, New York and a good friend of mine always EDCed a Spyderco of some sort. Some days he would rock out the Delica Foliage Green G10 and sometimes he would carry the discontiuned Spur fully serrated. I never understand…

Talked to A. G. Russell the other day and he said our knives should be in next month. I've emailed you who have reserved one and a few of you have yet to respond with your address, so if you let me know you wanted one and didn't get my email, please contact me at scott@iknifecollector.com
I ordered a few extra if any of the new members who joined since I took the order want one. It is a modern- day JUMBO Sunfish, as A. G. calls it.

Due to contraints on my schedule I don't get to many knife shows during the year, but this weekend so far my schedule is working out to go.
When I first started collecting knives, I just didn't get it. No, I didn't get knife shows- not at all.
Honestly, I just thought they were for a bunch of old timers who traded knives among themselves.
But, I gave them a try- and got…
