Hey J.T. you got a knife?

When a friend or associate ask if I have a knife. Becuase they want ot open a box, letter, etc... I tell them the only thing my knives are going to cut is the flesh of the idiot, scumbag, or criminal trying to assault and/or jack me!

Sure I know a knife can cut boxes, binding, peel fruit, etc... I NEVER USE MY BLADES FOR THAT PURPOSE!

Am I wrong??? I don't give a rat's @ss they're my… Continue

Jogging Knife

Here's something I was thinking about the other day.

A couple of the actors and crew go jogging to help/stay in shape. Well thank you to the intense Az heat they have started running after the show. Which is 11 or so at night.

Now because of the way my mind works...my question to myself (and out loud) was if there was a knife made for self protection that one could carry while jogging...or biking...or something sport-y like that.

So I asked MY resident Knife… Continue

My Photo

Don't let the picture of this older, not old, just older man fool ya. I'm so stealthy a def elephant couldn't hear me at 50 miles! This was me last summer (2008) waiting for a skunk to come out from under a neighbors shed. I waited about 20 minutes and out it came. Dead skunk! We had a VERY bad problem about 3 years ago, I killed 7 skunks (my total is now 8) that summer in a 2 block area of our neighborhood and the city workers killed another 6. Hence My Forum name. My weapon of choice? An RWS… Continue

Paying it forward.

This is totally off the wall, but it really made my day!

I JUST watched the news and they said that at our local Starbucks (we have like 10, but this one happened to be the one I go to!) someone decided to be nice and pay for the drinks for the person behind them (in the drive through).

It caught on and went on for 34 cars!

34 CARS!?

I love my town!

How nice is that!?

Does anyone ask you (when they need to cut something) if you have a knife? AND THEY KNOW YOU DO???

This happens to me all the time.

I know its just a question, but its getting pretty annoying.

The people that ask this question know that I carry a knife all of the time, so why not change the question to "can you cut this for me?" or "can I use your knife?"

My boss gives me this one at least once a week. "Nick, do you have a knife?"

I look at him with a funny look and he realizes that what he just asked was a dumb question.

Tell me how… Continue

What is with kids these days?

So I've been making videos on youtube for only a few months (december i think) and i've normally had really good and nice comments so far.

Well, I've had two really rude comments in the past week and I'm started to get a little discouraged.

Today I got one on my Delica review that said, "this is why girls cant do reviews, they stink at it"

So I clicked on this dude's channel...he is like 13 or something. Of course as all haters are...they either don't have… Continue

With Great knowledge comes....Alot of extra work.

I work at a Dinner Theatre and my postion is such that if anything breaks during the run of a show I am the go to person to fix it. Now we have shop people and props people and so on the fix something major the next day but if it needs to be fixed RIGHT NOW its all mine. This is my job and I am ok with it.

The one thing I have noticed lately is as the 'resident knife expert' I end up fixing things that are not my department.

For example...the wardrobe manager just brought… Continue

Knife Widows

I was just (trying) watching a knife review buy NUTNFANCY (nothing against him he has great reviews...its just something about his voice...of course I hate my voice as well...NOT THE POINT)

And he was talking about how he was sorry for the women who were 'knife widows' (my term not his) because Bencahmade had just come out with some new stuff.

I get comments all the time "I wish my wife/girlfriend/daughter was as into knives as you are"

And its sad when a couple can't… Continue

RMD vs Grunt

Note, this is a very, very short test. I only did the very simple tasks.

The test I did was just between the RMD and Grunt. It was wet and I was really satisfied when I finished the test. Both knives were stropped and were very sharp.

At the time, it was fairly dark.

Just before the test I was able to catch the flock of geese in the picture above. They flew right over me.…

Joined iKnifeCollector! New State of the Edge, plus a review of a YouTuber's knife!

Thanks to all who welcomed me to iKnifeCollector. It's great to be here. I intend to use the blog to update the forum on what's going on with my YouTube channel, Icychap's Edge.

Today represents 2 months of the channel, and I have had a tremendous response, much greater than I ever expected. I have 128 subscribers, and over 9,200 views. I will be doing a quick video later with both a State of the Edge (my account update, with a brief explanation of what's to come), and a review of a… Continue

Thought I'd share some thoughts on my RC-4

Good evening all,

Enjoying the last evening before a wet spell that our local newspapers have predicted, I thought I would share some pictures and thoughts concerning a knife that I've been using for some time. The blade in questions is RAT Cutlery's RC-4, the wilderness variant of their flagship RC-3. RAT Cutlery, for those of you who aren't familiar with them, is the wilderness gear company of a jungle survival institute called Randall Adventure & Training (RAT). This group got… Continue

ANNOUNCING THE iKC DAILY NEWS- COLLECTOR HISTORY IN THE MAKING!

A BLOGGING KNIFE COMMUNITY- HOW COOL IS THAT?!

A few years ago, when I started blogging at The News at ElephantToenails.com, I looked far and wide to find other folks blogging on knife topics. Not! Then over the last two years, I was able to find one about every 6 months- what's that about 4 or 5 now.

Almost every knife blog I was able to find was strictly a knife review. No interesting commentary, no… Continue
